I have been seeing the malaysian version of the ever popular seventeen magazine
and to my dismay , it is rather less appealing and rather more rubishey than the already rubishy seventeen mag from the USA
Seventeen magazine if not wrong is under the American Next Top Model Thingy
but unlike USA version
The Malaysian Mag chooses a rather Unhot Girl To be Placed on Their Magazine
And the USA version has hot girls almost all the time
Malaysian Girls are Hot , but I Clearly think malaysian Seventeen Does Not take their
models to a next step
Why not take the rather solid bodies rather than the skinny ones ….
and also , the magazine only appears to only see the sides of the slutty and ever cam-whoring sides of girls in malaysia
what happend to the malaysian girls who are good and hipped and cool
are they forgotten ???
so yeah Seventeen Magazine malaysia i believe is trying to create something diffrent from the western version
but rather implying diffrent , it has just not conveyed how malaysian seventeen girls are ….
Another issue is that the guys that they place in the magazine seems rather less appealing sometimes , and this offcourse implies to girls
My cousins/friends always say that the guys that they put in the seventeen mag USA are hot , but what happen to the malaysian version ???

But i do believe that seventeen magazine malaysia would be better if they were more creative .
and less trying to be a WANNA-BE !

yes, malaysia seventeen is sooo bad compared to seventeen usa. I actually like seventeen usa, it has a bit more class and are more up-to-date with the latest trends. the coolest thing is, they get reader input such as allowing them to be guest editors and such.
Anyway, seventeen msia rips off half it’s stories from the us version. And it’s totally ridiculous that they pick older, totally not 17 year old models for their spreads. Don’t get me started on how the fashion spreads are biased towards the ‘lala’ look. ugh. No variety at all.
It could actually do good to take after the US version.

the fashion guide,are mostly targetted to rich spoilt brat cuz the price for a specific fashionable item is sooo freakin ridiculous!!

the march issue,is kinda absurd.it’s supposed to be MALAYSIAN seventeen,but the girl (&boys) featured in their pages (refer column ‘street chic’ or something),are mostly INDONESIANs.i mean,what’s up with that?dont we have enough malaysian girls?they have their own seventeen INDO(and its even in indo language) u know.so dont go ‘stealing’ their girls!
i used to thot and prefer reading the malaysian version cuz to me,it can relate more to us asians instead of the US version.i mean, dont get me wrong,the US version relates to the teens there.physically most americans are tall fair/chocolate/goldentanned (never olive) n have those bodytypes we asians just cringe when we see em.and their lifestyle are slightly diffferent from us due to factors like cultures and customs.eventhough the US version cant quite relate to us here,we agree,they are creative and fantastic.cuz after all,a teen is stilll a teen either she lives in the land of the brave or the BOLEH land.
so yeah, i really THOUGHT the malaysian version is gonna spice things up cuz we are unique and damn right we petite asiangirls (if ur big put ur hands up too!) look more fabulous in those made-in-usa dresses!

seventeen mag malaysia has been doing really badly compared to seventeen mag USA. i think its the lack of creativity and class.
its also not updated, which totally stinks cause they probably read the USA version and then stick bits and pieces from it.
and yes, the fact that they put fake people everywhere is a PROBLEM.
plastering a celeb’s face on the cover is totally normal but it IS a malaysian magazine, and therefore they should get beautiful malay celebs.
this magazine is sold in malaysia- so duhh. they’re targeting the people IN MALAYSIA, so display the beauty of malay/malaysia women. it isnt really hard, you can walk through the streets of KL and find many of em.
also, the spreads are really weird, and never really changing. [there's one with this girl holding a plastic, cheap-looking water gun- i was like wth?]
there’s not enough variety and Ohmygee, the subtitles are so freaking cheesy. Its annoying.
overall, dont get me wrong, im a malaysian too but im seriously disliking this magazine, because of how they present it and the content. its just not really working out, they’re gunna hve to step it up a notch. =(

i love seventeen but unfortunately not seventeen malaysia.. i agree with all that saying.. it sucks but i still buy it..usa seventeen here is too expensive so i buy malaysian one..
yeah sofia , it is true what you say , the price for the US seventeen mag is a bit over the top for us malaysian , but i would recommend the internet , they have got better styling tips rather than that tacky magazine , why not buy strabuck with that price ..

I love Seventeen Magazine,but,seventeen malaysia is not up-to-date…last year i bought Seventeen USA and yes Seventeen USA is much updated and Malaysia magazine they need to be lil more creative…..and even i buy Seventeen USA i know it’s expensive but at least there’s like tons of updated fashion and tips….so yeah…i really hope the Seventeen magazine malaysia will be more creative and give tons of chances to the malaysians to be in mag…

yeah, you’re so right, thats what i’ve been saying but all my friends say their the same. But malaysian seventeen has an advantage, we know what brand they’re talking about, and the price. But seventeen us gives GREAT advice of relationships, health all that stuff, even some of the styling tips are better!

I totally agree. Im seventeen now and i never have and will not ever buy one of the mags. I think it does not relate to seventeen year old girls at all
